Full Biography
Born Ernan Enrique Jimenez in Panamá, Makano has been writing music and dreaming of being a singer-songwriter since he was sixteen years old. Like fellow Panamanian reggaeton artist Flex, Makano is known for his more romantic approach to the genre. In 1999, Makano participated in various national productions, which granted him some fame not only in his native Panamá, but also in other latin countries, like Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Ecuador.
In 2004, the Panamá Music music label released a compilation CD entitled La Alianza which included the song by Makano, "Te Va Doler." "Te Va Doler" was greatly received by the public, and played heavily on the radio.
By the end of 2006, Panamá Music began talks of signing Makano, and by June 2007, he began working on his first full-length album. With such romantic reggaeton singles as "Si Tu No Le Dices," "Fuera de Mi Vida," and "Te Amo," Makano is quickly making a name for himself not only in his native Panamá but also throughout Latin America.
